plant tips

  • water

Water when the top 2–3 inches of soil feel dry. Water well and let the extra water drain out — never let it sit in water.

  • light

Does best in bright to medium indirect light. Keep away from direct sun which can burn the leaves — a spot near a bright window works great.

  • zone

    Houseplant.

  • size

    Grows 3–8 ft. tall indoors.

care

Place in a warm, bright spot away from cold drafts and air conditioning vents. Water when the top few inches of soil feel dry and wipe the large leaves with a damp cloth every now and then to keep them looking clean and shiny. Feed once a month with a balanced liquid fertilizer in spring and summer, and skip feeding in winter. Adding a moss pole or support as it grows will encourage bigger, more dramatic leaves over time.
