Rhaphidophora tetrasperma

philodendron ginny

Also known as: Mini Monstera, Monstera Minima, Philodendron Piccolo

Native to the tropical forests of Southern Thailand and Malaysia, Philodendron Ginny is one of the most talked-about houseplants in recent years — and its popularity makes perfect sense. Its deeply split, glossy green leaves look just like a miniature version of the beloved Monstera deliciosa, giving any space that lush, tropical feel without the size. Fast-growing, easy to care for, and absolutely stunning on a shelf or climbing a moss pole, it's a must-have for any plant lover.

plant tips

  • water

Water when the top inch of soil feels dry — water thoroughly and allow excess to drain completely. Never let it sit in standing water as this can cause root issues.

  • light

Thrives in bright to medium indirect light. More light encourages the signature leaf splits to develop more fully — keep away from direct sun which can scorch the leaves.

  • zone

    Houseplant.

  • size

Grows 4–5 ft. tall indoors with support

care

Place in a warm, humid spot with bright indirect light and water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Use a well-draining potting mix and provide a moss pole or trellis for support as the plant grows — it loves to climb. Feed monthly with a balanced liquid fertilizer during spring and summer and skip in winter when growth naturally slows. Mist leaves occasionally or place near a humidifier to maintain the humidity it loves.
