Epipremnum aureum 'Neon'

pothos neon

Also known as: Neon Pothos, Devil's Ivy

Native to French Polynesia, Pothos Neon stands out from every other pothos with its solid, electric chartreuse leaves — no variegation, just pure, glowing color from the moment a leaf unfurls. Unlike the marbled patterns seen in other pothos varieties, Neon shows off a bright, almost glowing green that lights up even the dimmest corners of a room. Tough, fast-growing, and famously hard to discourage, it's the kind of plant that rewards minimal effort with maximum color.

plant tips

  • water

Allow the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root issues, so it's best to let the soil dry slightly first.

  • light

Prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate low light conditions. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves and fade their vivid color.

  • zone

  • size

Can reach impressive lengths of up to 10 ft. and 3 ft. wide indoors, easily managed with regular pruning.

care

Use a well-draining potting mix and fertilize monthly during the growing season with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer. Thrives in temperatures between 60–85°F with moderate to high humidity. Trim regularly to control length and encourage fuller, bushier growth — cuttings root easily in water, making it simple to fill out the pot even more. Propagate: Simply cut a long vine off of the plant and place the fresh cutting in a cup with a little water.
