pothos marble queen hanging basket

Also known as: Devil's Ivy, Variegated Pothos

Pothos Marble Queen is a beautiful tropical houseplant known for its heart shaped leaves patterned with creamy white and soft green variegation. Native to French Polynesia, this eye catching Pothos plant grows a little more slowly than Golden Pothos because of its lighter foliage, but rewards you with a striking marbled look on every leaf. It grows best in bright indirect light and looks beautiful trailing from shelves, hanging baskets, and plant stands or climbing along a support. Pothos Marble Queen is an easy care choice forliving rooms, bedrooms, offices, and other bright indoor spaces.

plant tips

  • water

Water when the top inch of the soil feels dry. Pothos stores moisture in its leaves and stems, making it quite forgiving of an occasional missed watering.

  • light

Needs brighter indirect light than most pothos varieties to keep its white variegation looking crisp and bold. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.

  • zone

care

Use a well-draining potting mix, such as a blend of peat moss, perlite, and regular potting soil, to provide the aeration and moisture retention this plant needs. Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every couple of months during the growing season, skipping winter when growth naturally slows. Trim regularly to control length and encourage fuller, bushier growth — cuttings root easily in water, making it simple to share with friends or fill out the pot even more. Propagate: Simply cut a long vine off of the plant and place the fresh cutting in a cup with a little water.
