Hoya carnosa 'Krimson Queen'

hoya variegated krimson hanging basket

lso known as: Krimson Queen Wax Plant, Variegated Hoya, Tricolor Hoya

Native to the tropical rainforests of Eastern Asia and Australia, Hoya Krimson Queen is one of the most colorful and eye-catching members of the Hoya family. Its thick, waxy leaves feature a stunning combination of deep green centers edged with creamy white and soft pink — a three-tone variegation that looks almost painted by hand. New leaves emerge in a bright blush pink before slowly developing their green and white tones, making every new leaf a small event worth watching.

plant tips

  • water

Allow the top 2 inches of soil to dry out between waterings. Water more frequently in spring and summer and reduce in cooler months.

  • light

Thrives in bright to medium indirect light. More light keeps the pink and white variegation looking its most vivid and encourages blooming. Always keep away from direct harsh sun.

  • zone

    Houseplant.

  • size

Trails or climbs up to 4–6 ft. indoors — perfect for hanging baskets, shelves, and decorative pots.

care

Place in a warm, bright spot with indirect light and keep away from cold drafts. Use a fast-draining potting mix and feed with a diluted balanced fertilizer every other watering during spring and summer. Never remove the woody stems after flowering as the plant reblooms from the same spots each season. Mist leaves occasionally or place near a humidifier for best growth and blooming.
