Hibiscus rosa-sinensis

hibiscus trio

Also known as: Chinese Hibiscus, Tropical Hibiscus, China Rose

Why settle for one color when you can have three? Hibiscus Trio pairs three classic tropical hibiscus plants — vivid pink, sunny yellow, and bold red — potted together in a single container for an instant rainbow of tropical color. Each plant produces its own large, trumpet-shaped blooms that last just a day but are constantly replaced by new flowers all season long, creating a non-stop, ever-changing display. Beloved for attracting hummingbirds and butterflies, this colorful trio brings triple the impact of a classic tropical favorite to any space.

plant bio

  • water

Hibiscus don't like to dry out and prefer an evenly moist root ball. Water regularly during the growing season and reduce slightly in cooler months.

  • light

Prefers full sun but will tolerate light shade — the more sun it gets, the better, with more shade leading to fewer and smaller blooms.

  • size

Grows 3–5 ft. tall and 2–3 ft. wide in containers — full, lush, and perfectly sized for patios and porches.

care

In zones 8 and below, plant hibiscus in a container. The container should have good drainage. Bring them inside the home for the colder months of the year.  When overwintering your hibiscus, make sure it is in a bright, sunny location and water as needed. Plant in organically rich, well-draining soil in a sunny spot protected from strong winds. Cut back by about half in early spring to maintain shape and encourage new growth across all three plants. Fertilize every two weeks during spring and summer with a liquid fertilizer to keep every color blooming strong.
