Dracaena steudneri 'Sol'

dracaena sol

Also known as: Dragon Tree, Sol Dragon Tree

Native to the tropical forests of Africa, Dracaena Sol is one of the boldest and most architectural members of the Dracaena family. Its broad, glossy green leaves fan out in a full, lush rosette from a thick upright cane, filling any room with a rich, tropical presence. Like all Dracaenas, its name comes from the ancient Greek word for "female dragon," and it lives up to that name with its striking, commanding form. A natural air purifier that thrives with very little attention.

  • zone

    Houseplant.

  • size

care

Place in a warm spot away from cold drafts and air conditioning vents. Water when the top inch or two of soil feels dry and wipe leaves occasionally with a damp cloth to keep them looking their best. Feed monthly with a balanced liquid fertilizer during spring and summer and skip in winter when growth naturally slows. Remove any yellowing leaves at the base to keep the plant looking full and fresh year-round.
