Dieffenbachia maculata 'Snow'

dieffenbachia snow

Also known as: Dumb Cane, Snow Dumb Cane

Native to the tropical forests of Central and South America, Dieffenbachia Snow is one of the boldest and most striking varieties in the Dumb Cane family. Its large, glossy leaves burst with a vivid contrast of bright white centers and deep green edges — a crisp, high-contrast pattern that instantly catches the eye. Tough, fast-growing, and incredibly adaptable, it thrives in spots where most plants struggle and grows into an impressive statement plant with very little effort.

plant tips

  • water

Allow the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings. Water thoroughly and reduce in cooler months.

  • light

Thrives in medium to bright indirect light. Tolerates lower light well but grows fuller and faster with more brightness — always keep away from direct sun.

  • zone

    Houseplant.

  • size

Grows 3–5 ft. tall and 2–3 ft. wide.

care

Place in a warm, humid spot away from cold drafts and air conditioning vents. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry and wipe leaves occasionally to keep their bold white and green pattern looking sharp. Feed monthly with a balanced liquid fertilizer during spring and summer and skip in winter when growth naturally slows. Remove any yellowing leaves at the base to keep the plant looking full and fresh year-round. Always handle with gloves as the sap can cause skin and mouth irritation.
