White Bird of Paradise Care Guide

Strelitzia nicolai

white bird of paradise

Also known as: Giant Bird of Paradise, Natal Wild Banana, Wild Banana

White Bird of Paradise is a bold tropical plant known for its large, banana-like leaves and impressive upright growth. Native to the coastal forests of South Africa, this Strelitzia Nicolai is the larger cousin of the classic Orange Bird of Paradise and is grown mainly for its dramatic foliage. Its oversized green leaves naturally split as they mature, giving the plant its signature tropical look. It thrives in bright indirect light indoors and full sun to partial shade outdoors, making it a beautiful statement plant for living rooms, patios, poolside landscapes, and tropical gardens.
