Dracaena trifasciata 'Robusta'

sansevieria robusta

Also known as: Robusta Snake Plant, Mother-in-Law's Tongue, Snake Plant

Native to the tropical regions of West Africa, Sansevieria Robusta is one of the boldest and most striking members of the snake plant family. Its broad, upright leaves are deep green with lighter silvery-green bands running across them — giving each leaf a rich, layered texture that looks great in any indoor setting. One of the toughest houseplants you can own, it thrives on minimal care and adapts to almost any light condition.

plant tips

  • water

Water only when the soil is completely dry — every 2 to 4 weeks is usually enough. This plant stores water in its leaves, so less is always more.

  • light

Thrives in medium to bright indirect light but tolerates low light well. Avoid harsh direct sun which can scorch the leaves.

  • zone

    Houseplant.

  • size

Grows 2–3 ft. tall indoors — bold, upright, and perfectly sized for any indoor space.

care

Place in a warm spot with bright indirect light and water only when the soil is completely dry. Use a well-draining potting mix — a cactus or succulent blend works great. Feed once or twice a year in spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer. Wipe the leaves occasionally with a damp cloth to keep them looking clean and sharp. Remove any yellowing leaves at the base to keep the plant looking full and fresh year-round.
