Native to the forest floors of Taiwan and Japan, Cast Iron Plant is one of the toughest and most easy-going houseplants you can grow. Its tall, glossy, deep green lance-shaped leaves grow in a full, lush clump that stays beautiful year-round with very little attention. One of the few plants that actually thrives in low light and shaded spots where most plants struggle — a true set-it-and-forget-it plant for any home or garden.

Place in a shaded spot with indirect light and water only when the top few inches of soil feel dry. Feed once a month at half strength with a balanced liquid fertilizer during spring and summer — skip in fall and winter. Wipe leaves occasionally with a damp cloth to keep their natural shine looking sharp. Remove any yellowing leaves at the base to keep the plant looking full and fresh year-round.
